Change in Immigration Status Applications
Section 4(7) of the Immigration act 2004 provides that permission granted under Section 4 May be renewed or varied
by the Minister for Justice in respect the Non -EEA national.
Applications for change of status made on the basis of Section 4(7) of the Immigration act 2004 will only be considered when the applicant has a valid current permission to be in the state.
An applicant may also be entitled to an upgraded Immigration status on the basis of marriage to an Irish national.
A change in Immigration status is entirely at the Minister for Justice discretion.
